Meet The Team
Deal Origination & Funding
Nick Moody, a founding partner of Newby has over twenty-five years experience in the property industry. Nick provides deal origination and funding for Newby and coordinates corporate strategy.
Development & Planning
Simon Hepden, a founding partner of Newby has over twenty years experience in development, planning, project and cost management and construction delivery. Simon enables Newby to build in house without recourse to main contractors.
Frazer is now a stakeholder in Newby and coordinates the business from acquisition/funding through the development process to eventual sale.
Chris has over 20 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, winning awards for Build Quality. Chris is responsible for the financial management of projects, negotiating and agreeing contracts and overseeing the new build housing.
Land Consultancy & Planning
Oliver manages all of Newby’s strategic land sites and planning processes from the initial pre-planning stages through to the submission of full planning applications to the grant of permission and negotiation of the Section 106. He liaises with the planning consultant, architects and consultants to ensure each scheme’s value is maximised whilst meeting national and local planning policies.
Francesca is a marketing professional with an abundance of experience within the Property industry. Francesca co-ordinates the marketing process at Newby from the branding to delivering design and other marketing campaigns throughout the development process, through to completion.
Ben has worked in the property industry for a number of years, working for both local and award winning national companies. Ben brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in all areas, working closely with all buyers throughout the process, from initial stages right through to completion.
James heads up the finance department for the company. James has a strong background in accountancy and brings with him his experience to develop an efficient team.
Stan joined the team to assist the finance department. Stan supports James with the day to day accounting and operational function of the business.
Maxine offers support for the whole team from the office. Acting as the first point of contact for colleagues and clients, Maxine also provides PA support for both Nick and Simon.
Lauren recently joined the team to assist Maxine with the day-to-day management of the office. Due to the rate of our growing team, Lauren is busy acting as a second support for both colleagues and clients alike.
Chris is responsible for the procurement of sub-contractors packages for each development and coordinates the site development works across all Newby schemes.
Lauren has over 5 years’ experience within the construction industry as a buyer among other roles and is currently working towards a HNC in Building Studies at Teesside University. Lauren is responsible for the purchasing of materials and plant for each development project.
Project & Site Management
Sam is responsible for the health and safety as well as the project and site management of Newby’s developments. Sam oversees the development process at both conversion and new build sites.
Thomas co-ordinates between our development and commercial team for Newby’s new build and conversion projects alongside complete management of subcontractors. Having successfully graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying & Construction Commercial Management, Thomas’ experience is extensive coupled with a background working for both national and local contractors.
Jonny’s background includes working on a variety of luxury residential refurbishments and has numerous years experience as a Quantity Surveyor. Jonny manages the developments in from specification to the materials used to make up each project.
Jonathan has over 20 year’s experience of working in construction. His previous projects have ranged from large student accommodation buildings in York, hotels and the Nottingham Train Station Grade II listed building refurbishment. Jonathan currently oversees the Springfield Court development in Harrogate.
David is an experienced Contracts Manager with multiple construction disciplines with over 15 years’ experience within the industry. David oversees a number of Newby developments, both new builds and listed building renovation projects.
Carl Barrow has over 20 year’s of experience working in the construction industry, managing projects of various size & importance from listed building, new builds & refurbishments. Carl is involved in planning, procurement, design, health & safety and day to day running of projects and currently manages Ryedale House in York.
An independent merchant banking group based in London, providing market making and corporate finance services. Newby have worked closely with Close Brothers on the successful development of 32 Devonshire Place and Windsor Court, and continue to build on the relationship working alongside them in the development of Springfield Court.
The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) helps create successful communities by making more homes and business premises available to the residents and businesses who need them. We also regulate social housing providers in England.
