About us

At Newby, we create unique, luxury homes with a strong focus on building communities and delivering a seamless customer experience. Our current locations include York, Harrogate, The Yorkshire Dales and Newcastle.

We pride ourselves on developing new build homes that offer exceptional living spaces, with a high-quality specification throughout and a focus on delivering a product that exceeds our customers’ expectations.

Based in North Yorkshire, we have been established since 2008 and have delivered various developments across the region. Our previous success stories include Castle Chambers in York, Devonshire Place in Harrogate and Velocity Village in Sheffield.

Essentially a mixed-use developer, we undertake a variety of projects, land promotion, asset management, development management and development in its own right.

Nick Moody
Deal Origination & Funding

Nick Moody, a founding partner of Newby has over twenty-five years experience in the property industry. Nick provides deal origination and funding for Newby and coordinates corporate strategy
Simon Hepden
Development & Planning

Simon Hepden, a founding partner of Newby has over twenty years experience in development, planning, project and cost management and construction delivery. Simon enables Newby to build in house without recourse to main contractors.
Frazer Roberts
Project Direction

Frazer is a stakeholder in Newby and co-ordinates the business from acquisition/funding through the development process to eventual sale.

Maxine O’Hara
Office Manager

Maxine offers support for the whole team from the office. Acting as the first point of contact for colleagues and clients, Maxine also provides PA support for both Nick and Simon.

Bethany Jackson
Office Assistant

Bethany recently joined the team to work alongside Maxine with the day-to-day management of the office. Due to the growing team, Bethany is busy acting as a second support for both colleagues and clients alike.

Francesca Kaye
Marketing Manager

Francesca is a marketing professional with an abundance of experience within the Property industry. Francesca co-ordinates the marketing process at Newby from the branding to delivering design and other marketing campaigns throughout the development process, through to completion.

Stan Barrett

Stan heads up the finance department for the company and oversees the day-to-day accounting.

Joshua Atkinson 

Joshua has been in finance for over seven years and has joined Newby's finance team to oversee the day to day accounting.

Chris Heffernan
Commercial Manager

Chris has over 20 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, winning awards for Build Quality. Chris is responsible for the financial management of projects, negotiating and agreeing contracts and overseeing the new build housing.

Thomas Holme
Development Manager

Thomas co-ordinates between our development and commercial team for Newby’s new build and conversion projects alongside complete management of sub-contractors. Thomas successfully graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying & Construction Commercial Management.

Chris Walker
Contracts Manager

Chris is responsible for the procurement of sub-contractors packages for each development and co-ordinates the site development works across all Newby schemes.

Henry Procter
Quantity Surveyor

Henry has 6 years of experience in commercial and residential construction as a Quantity Surveyor and 5 years within private property development. He was recently part of a team to deliver the  RICS Social Impact award for the Heritage winning Grantley Hall Hotel & Wellness Retreat. Henry is responsible for managing construction costs in line with budgets for a selection of our developments.

Jade Ourique
Quantity Surveyor

Jade has over 11 years’ experience in the commercial sector nationwide, with multiple degrees including Quantity Surveying. Jade is responsible for keeping construction costs in line with budgets.

Jonathan Hull
Site Manager

Jonathan has over 20 year’s experience of working in construction. His previous projects have ranged from large student accommodation buildings in York, hotels and the Nottingham Train Station Grade II listed building refurbishment. Jonathan currently oversees the Ryedale House development in York.

Carl Barrow
Site Manager

Carl Barrow has over 20 year’s of experience working in the construction industry, managing projects of various size & importance from listed buildings, new builds & refurbishments. Carl is involved in planning, procurement, design, health & safety and day to day running of projects and currently manages Ryedale House in York.

Shane Garwood
Site Manager

Shane has worked in the construction industry for many years, managing projects of various sizes, including listed buildings, new builds and refurbishments. Shane is involved in planning, procurement, design, health and safety and day to day running of projects and currently oversees Springfield Court in Harrogate.

Sam Hutchinson
Assistant Site Manager

Sam is responsible for the health and safety as well as the project and site management of Newby’s developments. Sam oversees the development process at both conversion and new build sites.

Thomas Hind
Assistant Site Manager

Thomas has experience in private residential schemes such as new build apartments, listed building renovations and new build housing schemes. Thomas is currently involved with the management of West House Gardens in Birstwith and oversees the day to day build process and the safety on site.

Paul Cowan
Assistant Site Manager

Paul has worked in construction for over 15 years with NVQ qualifications in joinery. Paul has recently joined the management team as an Assistant Site Manager and will be working on both regeneration and new build projects and will be studying towards his NVQ in site management.

Mathew Wyvill
Assistant Site Manager

Matthew has over 15 years’ experience of working in construction and has worked on numerous development projects. Matthew assists the Site Manager at Ryedale House, York and is responsible for the general on-site duties, as well as health and safety and the day to day running of the project.

Marketing Co-ordinator  
Maternity Cover (6 months or more) 

We’re looking for a Marketing Co-ordinator / Manager to start September/ October time as maternity cover.

The role will include but not be limited to:

- Updating the CMS / website on a regular basis.

- Liaising with the sales team and estate agents regularly to determine new sales, marketing opportunities and sales events.

- Liaising with external marketing agencies including the management of PPC and graphic design.

- Delivering exciting content across email/HTML campaigns and managing Social Media pages.

- Overseeing each development’s marketing materials to ensure they are presentable, up to date and well managed, both on site and with the estate agents.

- Delivering clear briefs and ideas for exciting PR opportunities and liaising with additional sources to obtain valuable editorial and advertising space.

- Overseeing the budgets for each development, both negotiating and managing costs to ensure these budgets are well maintained.

- Planning, creating and developing creative marketing campaigns and strategies alongside the Sales Director with a proactive approach.

- Building a rapport with the development team and ensuring sites are well maintained from a sales and marketing perspective. 

- Ensuring any sales events are planned in advance with the relevant marketing material required on site and for any campaigns on the run up to them.

Estate agency or new homes experience is essential and you will be reporting to the Sales Director. Applications can be made by emailing before the 31st August.

Sales Advisor / Field Sales Manager 
To start immediately 

We’re looking for a Sales Advisor / Field Sales Manager to start immediately within our busy team overseeing the sales across multiple developments.

The role will include but not be limited to:

- Dealing with any incoming sales enquiries both over the telephone or email, ensuring buyers are qualified accordingly.

- Updating the CRM on a daily basis and identifying key sales opportunities in a proactive manner through building a rapport with any potential buyers.

- Liaising with and managing the estate agents, solicitors and financial advisors on a regular basis, ensuring a clear understanding of the current market and sales activity across the various developments.

- Attending sales events with the agents to represent Newby, reporting on activity and chasing the agents on sales opportunities/feedback/warm leads following the event. 

- Negotiating sales values with buyers directly or through the estate agents.

- Building a rapport with the marketing and development team to ensure clear communication is maintained between sales requests, buyers, marketing materials required and the sites.

- Providing market research to the team based on nearby activity outside of Newby, such as new development launches, and reporting any insights to the Marketing Manager and Sales Director.

Estate agency or new homes experience is essential, as well as strong administrative and customer service skills. You will be reporting to the Sales Director. Applications can be made by emailing before the 31st August.
