At Newby, we create unique, luxury homes with a strong focus on building communities and delivering a seamless customer experience. Our current locations include York, Harrogate and Nidderdale.

We pride ourselves on developing new build homes that offer exceptional living spaces, with a high-quality specification throughout and a focus on delivering a product that exceeds our customers’ expectations.

Based in North Yorkshire, we have been established since 2008 and have delivered various developments across the region. Our previous success stories include Castle Chambers in York, Devonshire Place in Harrogate and Velocity Village in Sheffield.

Essentially a mixed-use developer, we undertake a variety of projects, land promotion, asset management, development management and development in its own right.

Deal Origination & Funding

Nick Moody, a founding partner of Newby has over twenty-five years experience in the property industry. Nick provides deal origination and funding for Newby and coordinates corporate strategy
Simon Hepden
Development & Planning

Simon Hepden, a founding partner of Newby has over twenty years experience in development, planning, project and cost management and construction delivery. Simon enables Newby to build in house without recourse to main contractors.
Frazer Roberts
Project Direction

Frazer is a stakeholder in Newby and co-ordinates the business from acquisition/funding through the development process to eventual sale.

Bethany Jackson
Trainee Sales Administrator

Bethany joined the growing team over a year ago and now works alongside the Sales Director and aids in the day-to-day management of the sales and customer care function within the office.

Stan Barrett
Finance

Stan heads up the finance department for the company and oversees the day-to-day accounting.

Joshua Atkinson 
Finance

Joshua has been in finance for over seven years and has joined Newby's finance team to oversee the day to day accounting.

Thomas Holme
Development Manager

Thomas co-ordinates between our development and commercial team for Newby’s new build and conversion projects alongside complete management of sub-contractors. Thomas successfully graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying & Construction Commercial Management.

Chris Walker
Contracts Manager

Chris is responsible for the procurement of sub-contractors packages for each development and co-ordinates the site development works across all Newby schemes.

Henry Procter
Development Manager

Henry co-ordinates between our development and commercial team for Newby’s new build and conversion projects alongside complete management of sub-contractors. Henry has 6 years of experience in commerical and residential construction as a Quantity Surveyor and 5 years within private property development. He was recently part of a team to deliver the RICS Social Impact award for the Heritage winning Grantley Hall Hotel & Wellness retreat.

Jonathan Hull
Site Manager

Jonathan has over 20 year’s experience of working in construction. His previous projects have ranged from large student accommodation buildings in York, hotels and the Nottingham Train Station Grade II listed building refurbishment. Jonathan currently oversees the Ryedale House development in York.

Sam Hutchinson
Site Manager

Sam is responsible for the health and safety as well as the project and site management of Newby’s developments. Sam currently oversees the development process at our Glasshouses Mill site near Pateley Bridge.

Paul Cowan
Site Manager

Paul has worked in construction for over 15 years with NVQ qualifications in joinery. Paul has recently joined the management team as an Site Manager and will be working on both regeneration and new build projects at our upcoming development Devonshire Lane in Harrogate.

Mathew Wyvill
Assistant Site Manager

Matthew has over 15 years’ experience of working in construction and has worked on numerous development projects. Matthew assists the Site Manager at Springfield Court in Harrogate and is responsible for the general on-site duties, as well as health and safety and the day to day running of the project.

Tina Avis-Edwards
Sales and Marketing Director

Tina has recently joined Newby as the new Sales Director and brings along with her over 23 years' experience within the new build property sector.

Tom Shotton
Development Manager

Tom has worked alongside Newby for many years and is currently overseeing the upcoming Devonshire Lane development in Harrogate.
